The Pinewood Derby

The Pinewood Derby stands out as the premier wooden car racing competition affiliated with Scouts BSA. This thrilling event is commonly overseen by Cub Scouts program packs. With the guidance of adult leaders, young Scouts construct their own miniature wooden cars, often employing kits that include a pine wood block, plastic wheels, and metal axles. Given the widespread enthusiasm for the Pinewood Derby concept, similar contests have emerged in other organizations. While it's important to note that "Pinewood Derby" is a registered trademark of BSA, many other groups use distinct names for their comparable events.
